I was never a fan of Disneyland the way some kids are because deep down I knew it was not very realistic for me to fly all the way to the land of magic. But I guess life always has a way of surprising us because suddenly I’m a 23-year-old adult (naks) exploring Disneyland and marveling at how happy the place is. There were a lot of tourists and locals when we went last December 28, but the cold weather was such a booster as it helped keep everyone’s cool. Hehe.
After walking around, we found the Frozen corner and lined up to have our picture taken with no other than Anna and Elsa. Yiiee! For the first time in forever!
Lunch was on-the-go but in fairness I really enjoyed my seafood rice topping!
I love walking around Disneyland because the sights themselves are already a treat, but my favorite of all was the sight of fathers carrying their children on their shoulders. That’s when I knew I have grown up – when during the parade, I just stood back and marveled at the wonderful sight of children on their fathers’ shoulders. Aww.
And then it was time for the parade!
Disneyland at night has a certain serene beauty to it.
A whole day is not enough to go around the whole Disneyland, but I’m beyond thankful for the time we spent there. A part of me says Disneyland is just one giant capitalist trap that people all over the world fall for, but then another part of me says just let go and enough with the theorizing because amidst all the chaos and daily grind of life, we all welcome the opportunity to be young again if only for a little while. It’s always nice to go back to our inner child every now and then.
